      Mahak Society to Support Children with Cancer

      The Charity Society to Support Children with Cancer, best known as “Mahak”, began its activity in 1991, under registration number 6567, as a non-profit, non-governmental organization with the noble purpose of supporting humans in need, specifically children under 16 with cancer and their families. Throughout its 27 years of activity, Mahak has achieved remarkable success in the area of charity, treatment, and research, becoming a major medical hub in the Middle East, through humanitarian assistance of benevolent individuals, good-hearted executives, and volunteer and dedicated forces.
      By the end of 2016, Mahak had provided comprehensive support to more than 27,000 children diagnosed with cancer. Some of the achievements of this charity society that shows its influential activity at high national and international levels are consultative status from the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), membership at internationally accredited child cancer organizations, construction of the only specialized child cancer hospital in the Middle East in an area of 18,000 square-meter with full clinical and para-clinical facilities in 2007, Quality Silver Trophy from GIC International Institute of Standards, NGO Benchmarking standard from SGS as the first non-governmental organization in the Middle East, Gold Award from International Project Management Association (IPMA), and research-applied projects in collaboration with the most prestigious Iranian and foreign research institutes.
